This week is a big week for AIB faculty and staff as well as incoming students.
All this week, AIB is holding New Student Orientation. I remember a year ago when I had my first orientation and the experience of being on campus definitely got me in gear to come to college.
This Tuesday, I got the opportunity to sit through all of orientation and take pictures of the event. It felt like I was in the shoes I filled only a year ago. I could definitely tell the difference from myself now to who I was then.
As I followed the incoming students through their planned days, I had the opportunity to talk to a few, including Aaron Spooner from Spencer, Iowa, “I am definitely pumped for school now! Being on campus is pretty cool,” he said.
I am looking forward to meeting all the new students and getting some new friends to hang out with.
I also sat in on a couple informational meetings the staff held. A few being Residence Life, Activities on Campus, and Student Employment/Career Services. It was nice to sit in on these, even though I did not learn anything new. But, I could definitely relate to everything said because I have been a student here for a year now.
All in all, I wish the new students at AIB luck and I will help them in any way I can. Looking forward to next term!
